PLTW Announces Brandi Davis-Handy as Senior VP | PLTW

INDIANAPOLIS – Project Lead The Way (PLTW), a national nonprofit organization based in Indianapolis that provides transformative learning experiences in computer science, engineering and biomedical science for PreK-12 students and teachers, today announced that Brandi Davis-Handy has joined the organization as senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer. Davis-Handy will lead PLTW’s strategic vision for brand awareness and engagement among partners.

“Brandi is a highly accomplished executive, with a wealth of experience in the energy, financial, transportation, and community development sectors. We are excited that she has joined our mission to empower students to thrive in an evolving world,” said PLTW President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Vince Bertram.

“I’m incredibly honored to be a part of this team and to help tell the story of an organization that is transforming the classroom experience through activity-based learning for students and teachers,” Davis-Handy said. “While headquartered here in Indianapolis, the impact of PLTW is reaching students across the nation. I am excited to be a part of this purpose-driven team of people who are preparing the workforce of the future.”

Davis-Handy most recently served as vice president overseeing enterprise communications at OneAmerica Financial Partners. She has also led communications teams at AES United States, Indianapolis Power & Light Company, and the American Cancer Society. Davis-Handy is an active community leader having served on the boards of the 500 Festival, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, Dress for Success of Indianapolis, and Lynx Capital Corporation. She is also a graduate of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series. In 2018, she was recognized as a Center for Leadership Development Minority Achiever and received the Breakthrough Woman in Leadership Development Award from the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a nonprofit organization that provides a transformative learning experience for PreK-12 students and teachers across the U.S. PLTW empowers students to develop in-demand, transportable knowledge and skills through pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. PLTW’s teacher training and resources support teachers as they engage their students in real-world learning.
