Manufacturing Day 2014 is fast approaching! On October 3, companies across America will open their doors to give the next generation a first-hand look at the exciting, high-tech world of manufacturing, and schools and students groups across the country will participate.
Manufacturing Day is a celebration of manufacturing in North America. It addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is—and what it isn’t. By working together during and after Manufacturing Day, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.
Is your school or PLTW class taking part in a Manufacturing Day event? If so, we want to hear about it! Send the details to communications@pltw.org, and we may feature your school's trip in our campaign. To find an event in your area, visit http://www.mfgday.com/ and click “Attend an Event."
