In Maryland, $900,000 in funds were included in the budget to expand PLTW's Biomedical Sciences program in more schools and professional development for teachers. "The 'teach-the-teachers' model that we follow allows the program to reach vast numbers of high school students across the country, which in turn addresses the national need for an innovative and skilled STEM workforce," said Susan Gorman, dean of the School of the Sciences at Stevenson University.
