PLTW & Partners Attend Technology Conference

INDIANAPOLIS (July 14, 2015) – Project Lead The Way has appointed Stephanie C. Hill to its Board of Directors. Ms. Hill is the vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin’s Ship and Aviation Systems.

Ms. Hill leads more than 10,000 employees who provide a wide array of information technology systems and services in areas such as information and cyber security, finance, transportation, citizen protection, energy, health care, and space exploration.

“We are honored to have Stephanie Hill join the PLTW Board of Directors,” said Frank Zaffino, chairman of the board. “Her leadership experience and commitment to the future vitality of this country is evident in her work at Lockheed Martin, as is her commitment to promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education in our young people. We are excited to have her join us and to offer her experience, knowledge and wisdom to the benefit our children.”

Ms. Hill graduated with high honors from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a Bachelor of Science in computer science and economics. Since joining Lockheed Martin in 1987 as a software engineer, she has served as vice president of Corporate Internal Audit, and vice president and general manager of the Electronic Systems-Mission Systems & Sensors, Baltimore site.

Ms. Hill is a member of the Maryland Business Roundtable; the University of Maryland, Baltimore County’s Board of Visitors; and the Greater Baltimore Committee. She also serves on the RTCA NextGen Advisory Committee, which develops recommendations to the Federal Aviation Administration regarding its modernization of the National Airspace System.

Ms. Hill has received numerous awards and recognitions. In 2015, Computerworld named her one of its ‘Premier 100 IT Leaders,’ and the World Trade Center Institute honored her with the Maryland International Business Leadership Award. In 2014, Ms. Hill was named the Black Engineer of the Year by Career Communications Group. In 2013, she received an AFCEA Heroines in Technology Award and earned the President’s Award from the Greater Baltimore Committee for support of minority business development.
