INDIANAPOLIS- (July 9, 2012) Project Lead The Way is proud to announce its inclusion in a new database listing exemplary STEM education programs. Change the Equation (CTEq) unveiled the much anticipated STEMworks Database on its website late last week, just after the July 4 holiday. CTEq is a nonprofit devoted to fostering widespread literacy in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The STEMworks Database features only a handful of programs at this time, but an open solicitation for programs will begin later this summer. The new database aims to be a resource for businesses and nonprofits seeking to support STEM education; all programs listed will have been highly vetted by an outside research organization with only the highest performing and high quality programs selected. PLTW is listed as one of these.
“PLTW is excited to be recognized as a successful model of STEM education,” said PLTW President and CEO Vince Bertram. “We continue to be focused on meeting the needs of an increasing number of middle and high school students and preparing them the global economy.”
