(February 7, 2014) - A national summit for the country’s information technology (IT) leaders next week will feature Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Senior Vice President and Chief Engagement Officer David Dimmett. Dimmett will contribute to a STEM education panel at the CompTIA Tech Policy Summit in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, February 11.
The Tech Policy Summit is part of the TechVoice DC Fly-In, which brings together entrepreneurs and business owners from around the country to discuss key issues impacting the IT industry, including STEM education. The Fly-in provides a forum for IT industry leaders to meet with Congressional representatives and government agency officials on issues critical to the future of the IT industry.
STEM education is taking a front seat at this year’s event. The panel on STEM education is titled, “Driving STEM Success in the U.S.” and will examine what the U.S. is currently doing to improve its global standing in math and science education and what business leaders can do to help drive the U.S. forward in STEM education. As the leader in STEM education at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, PLTW is pleased to be part of the discussion on how the U.S. can drive more students into post-secondary studies and careers in the STEM fields.
