INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Business Journal announced today its top honorees for CFO of the year, naming Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer John Visconti an honoree for Not-for-Profit CFO of the Year. This is the seventh year for the IBJ’s CFO of the Year awards, which aim to honor Indiana’s top financial leaders.
Visconti has served as senior vice president and CFO of PLTW since 2011, leading the organization’s finance, accounting, and human resources functions. His tenure has included a re-envisioning of PLTW’s business model, resulting in a 48 percent increase in annual program revenue; a 353 percent increase in grants from PLTW corporate and foundation partners; and investment in human resources programs and employee benefits. Visconti’s leadership has been instrumental in enhancing PLTW’s services and infrastructure to better support its schools and network, including upgrades to finance and accounting systems, curriculum delivery, and three-fold growth in staffing.
PLTW President and Chief Executive Office Vince Bertram nominated Visconti for the award.

The IBJ selected three honorees from each of five business categories, including not-for-profit organizations with revenue below $100 million, not-for-profits with revenue above $100 million, private companies with revenue below $100 million, private companies with revenue above $100 million, and public companies. The IBJ chose awardees via a panel of judges who considered the nominees’ dedication to their organizations’ obligations; their ethical standards; their contributions to their organizations’ overall growth; and their involvement in the community.
