INDIANAPOLIS (February 27, 2013) – Project Lead The Way, a national non-profit that moved its headquarters to Indianapolis just over a year ago, was named one of the 2013 Best Places to Work in Indiana. Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is the nation’s leading provider of rigorous, in-school science, technology,
engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum. The organization designs and writes curricular programs for middle and high schools, trains teachers in its high-quality professional development approach, and has numerous partnerships with education, business, and civic organizations. While students are at PLTW’s core mission, the award reflects PLTW’s employee-focused culture.
“We are thrilled with the designation as a 2013 Best Place to Work in Indiana,” said PLTW President and CEO Dr. Vince Bertram. “Our work in preparing students for the global economy is absolutely critical, but we could not do it without our dedicated employees. This award is a testament to our culture of leadership, innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability.”
PLTW is one of just 28 medium-sized companies (75-249 employees) being recognized across the state. Companies were selected after a two-part, intensive process, which consisted of an evaluation of the company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics, along with an employee survey to measure employee experience. The company survey was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation, and the employee survey was worth approximately 75%. Over 90% of PLTW employees completed this survey. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Indiana, analyzed the data, and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
