Project Lead The Way (PLTW) continues to be a leader in education technology, as evidenced by the latest invitation for the organization’s president and CEO, Vince Bertram, to participate in the U.S. News STEM Solutions Summit. This year, conference organizers invited Bertram to moderate a panel discussion on education technology.
Over 1,000 major corporations, leading educators, top policy makers, and education technology companies gathered at the 6th Annual STEM Solutions National Leadership Conference around the theme of “Building America’s Workforce: A Blueprint for Tomorrow.”
A key skill on the blueprint is technology. Bertram moderated the panel discussion about “Technology in the Classroom: Personalized Learning Tools,” which included Principal of Vista High School Anthony Barela, Superintendent of Freehold Township School District Ross Kasun, and CEO of CUE Mike Lawrence. The panelists discussed best practices for educators to integrate technology into the classroom in a way that enhances the learning experience for students.
“Our students must understand how technology connects to everything,” Bertram said. “Seeing those connections inspires students to become creators of technology rather than just consumers.”
While at the conference, Bertram also celebrated the newest inductees into the U.S. News STEM Leadership Hall of Fame during a private reception:
PLTW has had a strong presence at the U.S. News STEM Solutions Summit for several years. Bertram provided the opening keynote and participated in a panel discussion in 2013, helped opened the conference in 2014, and participated in a panel discussion about the value of career education in 2016. PLTW also partnered with Chevron in 2014 to provide interactive student activities at the Chevron STEM Zone exhibit.
