Parent Is Amazed at What PLTW Students Do in Class | PLTW

Anthony Rodriguez is the proud parent of a student who has gone through the PLTW program at Hudson Middle School in Hudson, Wisconsin.

Imagine your child going to a school that has a class that gives students the opportunity to take what they have learned and apply it to real-world problems outside of the classroom. A class that has garnered such a reputation for excellence that NASA reaches out when they want to test out new curriculum. A class in which students use what they learn to tackle some of the world's most pressing problems and are successful in finding solutions. A class that not only encourages girls to take STEM classes, but also has girls as leaders in STEM classes and has increased the number of female students in PLTW classes by a factor of 10. Imagine your child being able to take a class from an award-winning teacher who – for the past seven years – has inspired state-, national-, and international-award-winning middle school students to achieve at a level that many college students may never reach!

Sound too good to be true? Well, Hudson Middle School has such a program and teacher. Hudson Middle School in Hudson, Wisconsin, has a Project Lead The Way program that does all of the above – and then some.

If you do a quick internet search of "Chris Deleon, Hudson Middle School", you will see that there is more going on with Hudson Middle School’s PLTW program than I could possibly cover here, but it is worth the look!

My child has taken a PLTW robotics class from Mr. Deleon, and I can tell you firsthand that she has come back home and raved about the amazing things that they are learning in class and the opportunities that they have.
