PLTW Summit 2024 brought together a vibrant community of more than 1,400 educators, innovators, and industry leaders representing 48 states last month. Keynote Speakers
PLTW Summit 2024 featured thought-provoking keynote presentations from renowned speakers who shared their insights on the future of education and the role of STEM.
William Kamkwamba
William Kamkwamba took the stage at PLTW Summit 2024 with an inspiring keynote that resonated deeply with educators and attendees alike. Known for his remarkable journey to becoming a celebrated inventor and author of The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, William shared his story of perseverance and innovation, highlighting the power of creativity in overcoming challenges.
In his address, he recounted how he built a windmill from scrap materials to provide electricity for his family and community, emphasizing the importance of resourcefulness and determination. William encouraged attendees to foster a mindset of curiosity and problem-solving in their students, urging them to view obstacles as opportunities for innovation.
Emily Calandrelli
Emily Calandrelli is a STEM advocate and author who is best known as the host of “Emily’s Wonder Lab,” and to her growing army of followers on social media as “The Space Gal.” Emily took the stage Friday to share her passion for making science accessible and engaging for all students. She shared personal stories of resilience from her journey in STEM, emphasizing the importance of fostering curiosity and creativity in young learners.
John and Hank Green
PLTW Summit 2024 closed with a captivating and humorous keynote discussion featuring Hank and John Green and moderated by Rocky Valadez, Senior Vice President of Engagement at PLTW. Known for their engaging content and advocacy for education, the Green brothers entertained the audience with their insights on the intersection of creativity, science, and communication.

A highlight of PLTW Summit 2024 was the PLTW Exploratorium, an interactive space designed for attendees to engage directly with various PLTW programs. Celebrating Achievements
PLTW Summit 2024 also served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of PLTW educators and students, including highlights from our inaugural Community Impact Awards winners and a lively panel discussion with our 2024-25 National Award Teachers and Administrators of the Year.
