Studies show that students decide as early as elementary school whether they like, and think they are good at, math and science. That’s why we created PLTW Launch, PLTW’s program for students in kindergarten through fifth grade designed to capture their interest in and spark a lifelong passion for math and science. But, we can’t stop there. We must capture students’ interest and release it, spark a passion, then fuel it. Middle school is the perfect time for students to explore and learn that there’s more than one way to reach a solution. PLTW Gateway provides engineering and biomedical science curriculum for middle school students that challenges and inspires them to think outside of the box, express themselves in a new way, and facilitate their own learning. Students continue to explore the design process and build a foundation that will lead them into high school where they can further their STEM learning.Curiosity comes naturally to students, but it’s our responsibility to cultivate their imagination and prepare them to succeed in a world where their talents and skills are desperately needed.
